The Toowoomba Kart Club had the first race meeting of the year on Sunday – 17/12/2013.
There was an accident on the highway, which saw some late arrivals. The club held nominations open for an extra ½ hour, and allowed an extra practice session for the late arrivals. Then a problem with the starting lights saw all starts being done by using the Australian Flag. The feedback was that most karters and spectators preferred the flag to the lights.......so we have decided that all starts in the future will be by the flag.
The club openly requests feedback from karters about what they would like to see for our future meetings, but after today, we propose to run the 5 heat format again, and flag for starts. We will keep nominations open until 9 a.m. for those who need to travel. – Practice will start at 8.00, but we will keep practice open for the late arrivals. (late arrivals will probably only get one run though).
Free camping, practice all day Saturday, and lots of laps Sunday. Hopefully growing numbers will see great racing, and with the South East Qld Tri Series starting in June, we will see good numbers over the coming months. |
